A new dog!

I often catch L & C discussing whether to get another dog and the last conversation finished with C saying to L 'you can get one if you cover the costs for it'.

Anyway it appears that L has taken C at her word and we have a new addition to our family - Sidney who is an 8 year old Dachsund Cross!  Unfortunately he is unable to live with us as he is very nervous of people, so L is sponsoring him and he is being looked after by the brilliant team at Dogs Trust Shoreham

A very handsome chap!

My glorious bog!

A few posts back I mentioned that I hoped the rain continued so my bog remains full.  Well I did a little rain dance that I know and when I returned from my holibops there was my bog full to bursting with gorgeous muddy water!

Back from my holibops

We have just got back from a brilliant holiday in Kent.  We stayed in a dog friendly cottage in St Margaret-at-Cliffe which was great.  It had a lovely big garden and I was allowed upstairs (though the stairs were a bit steep on the way down!) and it also had Sky+ which meat I could record Crufts while we were out and about and watch it later.

We had every different type of weather possible, including all the seasons in one day on the Tuesday.

I must admit I was a VERY good dog, apart from escaping from the garden once and stealing 1/3 of a loaf of bread from the kitchen bag on the last morning while L & C were pre-occupied with packing the car.....not bad I'd say.

Here are some photos of our adventures:

I'm in the dog house...

Last night was fun....we popped out at 11pm so I could relieve myself before bedtime and then I saw a badger.

He looked lots of fun and I thought 'I would like to meet that badger' and pulled hard on the lead and as if my some miracle my collar unclipped!!  I chased the badger across road and into the grounds of a house (it had a right wiggle on it) and I could hear L and C in hot pursuit.

I ended up in the bushes and had the badger surrounded, but he wasn't coming out from his hidey hole so I decided to have a little wander around the gardens of the house.  I could hear L & C calling me, but there was far too much to explore.

I tiptoed along the verranda of the house and found a nice crunchy bone to much on for a bit.  Once that was devoured I stretched my legs and set off all the security lights again, whoops.  This meant that L & C could see me and they gave chase into the wooded area.

I went as far into the brambles and bushes as I could, but L & C had me cornered and I was captured.

On the walk back home I got the distinct feeling I was in big trouble!  I was only gone for 15 minutes, what's the big deal?!
