7 going on 7 months!

It's my birthday!  It's my birthday!  It's my birthday!

Sorry not to have posted for a while, not sure where the time has gone, but I have certainly had lots of fun!

So now I am 7 I think L & C are expecting me to be a bit calmer, but where is the fun it that?! Loads of people ask 'is he a puppy?' when we are out, so I am obviously doing something right.

I have heard rumours of presents and a cake later!

Now I am six

I know it is hard to believe, but I am now six!!!  How did that happen?!  After all the scrapes I get into I am doing pretty well.

L & C were off on their holibops in Majorca for my actual birthday (the cheek of it!) so I had my cake when they got back.  I have to admit it didn't last long and I didn't offer to share it.

Below are a few photos from their holidays - it looks ok I suppose...

Beautifully decorated

Let me at it!

Can I have this everyday?

Been in the wars!

I have had a lump in my mouth for a little while now and L & C decided it was time for it to be removed and for me to also have a bit of a teeth clean.  They didn't tell me this beforehand so I happily trotted into the vets a few weeks ago and the next thing I know I am coming round and feeling very spaced out.

C picked me up and I managed to jump into the car, but when we got home she had to lift me out.  I spent the rest of the evening having vivid dreams while snoozing on the sofa.

Then it all went wrong - I got gastroenteritis again!  Not fun at all, so back to the vets we went and they jabbed me to stop me being sick and gave C more drugs to give to me.

I was feeling rotten and no morsel of delicious food would pass my lips for nearly three days - I think L and C were starting to get worried!

Then after releasing some gas, which was obviously causing a blockage, I was suddenly hungry.  I had a little bread that evening and then the next morning scoffed the chicken and rice that was given to me.

As I was feeling better I thought it was high time I started licking my leg where they had shaved it for the iv drip.  It was starting to itch where the hair was growing back so I was happily licking away.  L tried to stop me by putting various bandages on my leg, but I wasn't scuppered at all and ripped them all off so I could carry on licking.

The following day I was left home alone and when C came home at lunchtime I surprised her by being in the hall waiting for her....Houdini doodle strikes again!  I had managed to get the baby gate in the kitchen open and unfortunately I was caught short in the living room and left two 'presents' on the cream carpet (when you gotta go, you gotta go).  I had also got a little peckish on my adventure and found four packets of cat food on the stairs so I ripped them open and ate the lot and then upstairs I found another three packets - brilliant!
Anyway Caroline ushered me into the kitchen and put me in the 'cone of shame' to stop me licking my leg.

Cone of shame

After a diet of chicken and rice and all sorts of drugs including feeling spacey on tramadol, I was eventually better and my mouth was healing well.  But I couldn't stop my licking my leg, so I have only just stopped wearing the cone...nearly 6 weeks after my op!

I think I had better keep out of trouble for a bit....

In the dog house...

I have had an eventful weekend!  On Saturday L was cleaning the patio (no idea what that is about?!) and she left me loose in the kitchen, so I busied myself with pulling out the recycling over the kitchen floor and then I looked around and if by some miracle the dog gate was not shut properly.  Now what you don't realise is that every time I come into the kitchen I trot up the dog gate to see if it is open and it is always shut, but not this time (thank you, thank you, thank you....)

...so off I went on an adventure.  Well really I knew exactly where I was heading - straight upstairs to where the cat food is kept.  And there it was, both wet food and crunchies...plus of course the cat litter tray to have a rummage through for truffles!  Once the bowls were licked clean I discovered some cat food sachets so set about freeing the contents.  And then I was caught red-pawed!  L was standing in the doorway glowering at me!  I have to admit I did have quite a bit of the wet food on my paws and I was merrily treading it into the carpet.  After a little run around the other bedrooms I was ushered downstairs and put to bed and L went back upstairs with a can of carpet cleaner.

Helping with the recycling

It's not as bad as it looks!

Later on in the afternoon we went for a walk and I showed L my special houdini act - one minute I was there and the next I was gone!  I could hear her calling me, but I was following my nose across two roads and to some recycling bins that smelt heavenly.  A lovely lady came out of one of the houses to see me and took me into her porch and I could hear her calling C to say I had been found, so I knew it wouldn't be long before L came to collect me.  When I saw her I gave her the biggest tail wag I could muster, but she didn't look happy (though she did let the lovely lady give me some water and two biscuits).  After thanking the lady, L dragged me back home and she seemed a little annoyed so I just did as I was told, then when I got home I said sorry by showing her my most sorry face:

Sorry!

Windy millars!

I have just got back from a jaunt along the edge of the golf course and it was windy millars...

Big birthday

It was L's big birthday recently and she had a paw-some time celebrating.  She started in Mexico in January, carried on through February and is now wrapping up the celebrations in March, phew!  I thought rather than getting her a card I would go for a more unique birthday greeting...

Offering to the Gods!

We had a great walk up on the golf course and after a little bit of rolling in one or two of the bunkers I did lots of ball chasing which is my favourite past time. L got this great photo of me making an offering of thanks to the God of dog balls!
